If you were anywhere around social media this last week, you more than likely heard all the reports and rumors that the world was going to end around September 23rd or 24th, and the “rapture” was going to happen. The heavens would raise up and swallow all good believers. Meanwhile, the left behind were doomed to remain during the tribulation and hell on earth.
Whether you believe in the rapture or not, it’s a moot point. It didn’t happen. But why were so many people waiting in anticipation and hoping that it did?
The answer is simple and obvious. This world has become toxic and the majority of people want a “reboot”. It feels like we’ve reached the point of no return. Now there is no hope left for a good world anymore. Hatred abounds. Selfishness and jealousy surge through the veins of too many people. Is the only answer a rapture?
Well, since it didn’t happen, now what can we do? What will we do? Will we wallow in disappointment, still stuck in a world in turmoil? Or will we take this opportunity to try to make changes where we can?
What can you do? How can you change your world? There are some things you can do to make your life better, even individually.
Find a purpose in your life. If you don’t already have one, find one. Find a reason for living. Make a goal. Live for loved ones. Join an organization that helps others. You may be surprised at how much it will change your life for the better.
Work on getting your health back no matter where you are at. None of us is without hope. Amazingly, our own beliefs control our lives more than things outside of us. If your mental health is good, you will have a better chance of achieving physical health.
Make connections with people and stay away from screens. Social media is ruining our connection with others. As humans, we need physical interaction. Find friends if you have none. Check out local groups and organizations that align with your beliefs and interests. You will find people you can connect with.
Make your life a life you can be proud of. Whether the rapture comes while you are alive or not, you will enjoy the time you are here.
