Are you living the life you were intended to live? Do you feel that your life is running along as it’s supposed to? Are you living your truth?
Many people these days are living a lie in one way or another. Lately, it seems, we need to tiptoe around everyone else’s feelings. If we are not living a life expected of us by others, they judge us harshly.
Are You Wearing Two Faces?
How many of us wear two faces? Is there a public face to appear to be who they want us to be? And a second face which lives our truth? Which life is easier?
It takes courage for us to live our truth. There will be people we love who do not agree with our choices. Politics is the most obvious example. However, there are many other ways we can live in that others disapprove.
How many gay people are out of the closet? There are many more now than there used to be. Whether they were born that way or chose that way of life, it is their truth. They are not comfortable living any other way. But, do they live that way publicly?
Living Your Truth Can Be Dangerous
Living our truth is to live without the two faces. In some cases, this can even be a dangerous way to live. In this violent world, there are some who have no qualms about killing those who are not in tune with their vision of the world.
What I speak of isn’t a new concept. It’s been going on for ages. Religious wars are one example. How many people were killed merely for religious beliefs? How do you choose between living your truth or dying?
Yet, there can be no peace within if you are living a lie. One will always be looking over a shoulder for a spy when wearing the face of truth. Is it worse to live a lie or live in fear for your life?
It is a question I hope nobody should face. However, for myself, living a lie is no life at all. To live in such a way is to not have peace. I would rather risk my life and live my truth.
