Hi everyone! I’m Shell. Welcome to my world.
I hope to offer a peek into my crazy life. For those who know me no explanation is necessary. For those who do not yet know me, be afraid. Be VERY afraid.
There’s always a lot going on in my life. I work a regular job in a factory at night and my daytime hours are varied depending on how I feel and what’s scheduled. I have osteoarthritis in my ankles and I’m on my feet for 11 hours at night so there are some days I can’t get a lot accomplished physically. Those are the moments I spend reading, learning, writing, painting or just plain staring into space listening to the quiet.
My husband and I have been together since 1995. He is an avid sportsman who loves the outdoors but is sensitive to cold weather since his bout with cancer a few years ago. (So why do we live in Wisconsin?) He has 3 grown boys with families of their own. We have no human children together. We do have a Cookie. She is a very intelligent Jack Russell terrier who runs my household.
Where Will This Go?
I’m not sure what path this blog is going to take to begin. My writing usually takes on a life of its own. I do an exercise I call “Brain To Fingers” quite often. Basically, I sit in front of a computer keyboard and just let whatever words hit my brain flow through my fingers onto the screen. Even I don’t know what’s going to end up there. But the result is usually interesting, even if just to see the strange route my train of thought travels. It’s usually a rather candid view into the workings of my mind.
I am a survivor of a narcissistic parent. Frequently, I deal with self-esteem issues because of it. Recently, I discovered that I have empathic abilities. That explains so much about things that confused me before. It means that I feel emotions that are not my own. I’m learning how to adjust my life accordingly. Some days I feel very overwhelmed. Some days I feel very peaceful and calm and some days I don’t have any idea how I feel.
It is my hope that my words will bring my readers entertainment as well as useful information in whatever they can relate to in my life. I welcome any input and suggestions so feel free to email me at shell@thewriteempath.com.
I hope you feel welcome and at home here.
