Our world has become an uncomfortable place. I can’t remember life ever being comfortable, but within the last few years, it seems to be crazier than ever. Peace is hard to find.
Violence erupts in unexpected places. Children are disappearing. “Road Rage” is a real thing. Politics sets everyone on edge. Even the weather is unpredictable and full of disasters and hardship.
Stress builds quickly. Instead of bounding out of bed with joy, we often drag our feet wishing for a different life. Careless and inconsiderate drivers may fill our daily commute. Employers are not likely to be understanding when life issues hit us. There’s too much month at the end of the money. If you only feel uncomfortable, you are one of the lucky ones.
You Can’t Change The World
However, it’s insanity to think one person can change the world. No matter what you do, the world will still be crazy. Drivers will still be careless and inconsiderate. Bosses won’t stop pushing us to work harder and faster. Natural disasters are inevitable. There’s only so much protection we can have against violence. Is depression inevitable?
While we can’t change the world, we can choose our reactions to it. Waking up uncomfortable does not have to be our lot in life. Our attitudes are our choice. We can be unhappy, or we can find a way to enjoy life despite these setbacks.
Many things contribute to our state of mind and how we deal with life. Besides the outside influences, there are things in our own life affecting us. The number of hours we sleep and the foods we eat play a big part. Tired, hungry people have little patience for the struggles of life. Also, it’s important to make time for things which relax us. Empaths need solitude to rejuvenate.
Finding Your Peace
If we discover we don’t want to face each day anymore, it’s time to find our peace. Peace may be different for each person. Whatever it takes for us to relax is the prescription for peace. Creativity is usually a good start, whether it be art, writing, cooking, photography, music or some other form. Exercise works for a few people. An intense workout might release the stress buildup within.
Peace will not come to us. We have to search it out. Time should not be a consideration in the decision to find our peace. Those who say they have no time are often the ones who need it most. Life isn’t supposed to be stressful and hurried. We have made it that way. It’s time to take our lives back again.
If we want peace in our life, it is up to us to find it in whatever method we choose. The world might always be uncomfortable. However, with the right attitude, we can get through it with a minimum of stress.
How will YOU find peace?
